Sankt Gertrud is a conference center in Malmö, Sweden. They are placed in a beautiful cluster of historic buildings, all traditionally painted in warm yellow and red notes, and their courtyard is filled with flowers. Sitting in the sun sketching for this map I made for them to help their costumers find their way around was a true pleasure. Graphic design by Gabriel Häggebrink.
I moved to Lund, Sweden, in the spring of 2017. Lund is a beautiful small university town, very old and full of flowers and parks so walking around here is such a pleasure. Getting to know my new home, I decided to make 3 maps showing the town in different ways.
The Swedish word fika simply means having coffee and pastry. Through excessive research, I found and mapped the best places to do that in Lund. Thanks to my boyfriend for providing his untiring research assistance.
Lund was founded around 990, making it one of the eldest cities in Sweden. I enjoyed sketching some of the historic buildings.
Maps are not just about location - they are also about the experience of being in a certain place.
